The slightly worrying world of a freelance journalist, details of the ransacking of the interesting parcels of beauty stuff that arrive each week, and info on the ones that work and the ones that make you say "Oh for God's sake some over-tanned freak in a white overall just conned me into spending £20 on that."

"'Grapefruit is SO bracing...."
Having recently spent a fortnight attempting to swim in a sea so cold it made my ovaries shrink and then returning to a city rent asunder by people who seem to feel that what will help to make their voices heard is a new pair of trainers, I am feeling somewhat startled in general. The new Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Cream Wash I have been trialling has a very sassy, wideawake smell which is great for those mornings when you've been obsessively checking Twitter all night. It is also extremely...invigorating....shall we say? when one gets it in one's eye by mistake. I know, I know, all these washes say 'avoid delicate eye area' etc etc but it's a face wash. Your eyes are, and I am not speaking for everyone here, obviously, on your face. So now and again there's going to be a mishap. However, other than a bit of red eye, skin is clear, soft and perky. Like this a lot - Neutrogena's skin care range is really worth looking at now, having moved away from their previous slightly worthy image.
