When I was asked to test No.7's new Beautiful Skin range my skin was in a Very Bad Place owing to a fortnight's worth of nose-blowing and crisp eating (unfortunate when Walker's cheese and onion crisps are the only things you can taste) so I asked my friend Jillian, who has extremely dry skin on her cheeks, to test it. She tried the Cleansing Balm Dry/Very Dry skin, and No.7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream for Dry/Very Dry skin.
Jillian has psoriasis on her wrists and ankles and the skin on her cheeks can become VERY dry and inflamed. She absolutely got used to the balm eventually, after she had got used to not using water to wash it off, and said it felt luxurious to use. The real revelation was the moisturiser though. Poor Jillian is used to using moisturisers with the consistency of emulsion paint, which are pasty and sticky and remain sitting on the skin for hours before they sink in. She was amazed at the ease with which the day cream sank in beautifully and kept her skin feeling moist, without any of the pain she normally experiences when her skin "tightens" once her normal moisturiser's been absorbed. She used it as a night cream as well as she found it so soothing.
So there we are - a ringing endorsement for good old No 7, the stalwart brand of my teenage years.
